We're getting close.

It's almost the new year, and I'm getting ready to start my updates. I got the Beth Moore book I wanted for Christmas, and I need to go get some new tennis shoes. Mine are now talking to me. hehe. I'm still debating on posting my weight on Wednesdays, but I was looking at my friend's wedding pictures and the pictures of me in the bridesmaid dress aren't pretty. Definately motivation to shed a few. I'll show you a picture that you can't tell I'm a chubster.

Maybe you can still tell, but you don't see the back fat.

We are only a few days away from moving all the stuff into our house. The updates are going great, and I can't wait to be moved in. YEAH!

Tis the Season

Christmas is making me tired this year! I have gotten hardly any shopping done and don't know when I am going to do the rest of it. Lord, be my rest.

New House

We are signing on our new home tomorrow. I am so excited! I think it makes being married even more real. I can't wait to get in and decorate (after we scrape the popcorn ceiling and redo some flooring). It doesn't look like much, but it's going to be wonderful. God has been so evident in the whole process from insurance costs to interest rates to closing dates. It has been amazing! The main reason we wanted a house is to do ministry out of it(you can only fit so many people in approx. 750 sq. feet of duplex). I can't wait to have people over and serve them.

Thinking...

I am thinking about New Year's resolutions. I've never really done this before, but I'm a "grown-up" now, and it just seems like something I should do. My thought process thus far has been lose weight, read Bible, keep a "clean" house, exercise, and then AHAH! Blog about it so that I can really keep track of my goals and have a set day to tell how I am doing on each. I know this would be utterly boring to anyone else reading it, but maybe it won't.

As of now these are going to be my resolutions and goals and the respective days that I will let you know how I'm doing.

Monday - Spend time with God everyday! This is a biggie! I'm not doing so hot right now. I am asking for Beth Moore's "Jesus, the One and Only" for Christmas. Maybe this will be my first Bible Study of the New Year.

Tuesday - Run the 10k at the turkey trot next Thanksgiving. Philip and I ran the 5k this year while Cody and Jamie (Brother-in-law and wife) ran the 10k. It took them approximately 10 more minutes to finish the 10k than it took us to finish the 5k. Ug! But look at them c'mon; they were just dressed for success. So, I'll let you know if I have run any during the week.

Wednesday - Weigh-in. I really would like to lose 20 lbs. This may sound shocking to those of you that know me, but it really is a heathy weight for me. Promise! I'm only 5'1", and I don't think I'm comfortable telling how much I weigh right now.

I don't really know how to quantify whether I have kept my house clean, so I will think on this and get back to you.

SNOW IN HIGHLANDS!!

Last night was such a fun night! I went straight to the church after work, and as students started to come in they would comment about it snowing. Of course, each and every time we would all get up and go look outside, and up until right before we were about to start it was just sleet; then it really started to COME DOWN!! We walked outside afterwards, and it was getting thick. Everyone was going crazy! So fun! After we ate at Cracker Barrell and made a stop at Wal-Mart. Philip and I went back to Kristi's to make a snow man. It was hilarious trying to make him look even. Philip got a knife and meticulously etched away the parts he thought shouldn't be there. Kristi kept saying, "We're making memories." We threw a few snowballs in the process and had to go inside to thaw out every once in a while, but Kristi, Alan, Philip, and I made the greatest snowman probably in history. (Shahla also made an appearance) He was amazing!
