Just a Part-time youth pastor's wife!

Philip and I were talking last night about how exciting it would be for students to make radical decisions for Christ in a regular, weekly program. He specifically mentioned students surrendering to missions to which my comment was, "That's will be hard to expect since we haven't been missionaries." (Oh, how stupid!) Philip quickly replied, "We are missionaries. Called to dark and lonely Highlands, TX." It's so true! Although Philip's job description says he is only part-time, neither of us view our ministry here as something that could even remotely be part-time. We have been called to Highlands to share the love of Jesus Christ with the teenagers of this community. How?!? Through God's provision and strength.

I have been so discouraged recently about certain circumstances in our live and in our church that I have lost sight of the fact that the Gospel is more powerful than what the foyer of our church looks like and whether the music played is always what I think is "good." God, please help me to be a woman who prays more than she complains and loves more than she criticizes and is content in the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ!

Excited!

I have had a precepts Bible study sitting in my bedroom untouched for the past 7 months, and last week I finally purposed to get started on it. It's been tough getting into it on a regular basis, but I have to say, it is so exciting! God's Word is exciting! Studying it with purpose is exciting! I am writing this so that maybe I can stay accountable to working on it daily and growing just a smidge in my knowledge of who God is. Also, I have started texting my life group girls every day this week with Bible verses, and I can't wait to hear how well they did readying them and what they have to say. Life with a student minister is amazing!
